TSA is a Technical School for Adolescents with Autism initiated by the Lebanese Autism Society LAS in year 2006 and it is located in Collège du Sacré Coeur- Gemmayzeh.
TSA has participated to the project

Our goal is to integrate adolescents with autism in the social and vocational life and to train them to be able to become active members in the community, each one depending on his/her skills and capacities.
We aim to provide our students with a better quality of life, to enhance their communication and interaction with society, and to provide higher chances of employment for them in the future.
For the academic year 2008-2009, TSA has 6 adolescents (5 boys, and one girl), between the ages 15 and 19.
Our Team includes:
● One coordinator
● One responsible of pedagogical education
● 4 educators

Our Programs:
The Technical School for Adolescents works on the implementation of 2 main programs the IEP and the IVP:
I- Individual Education Program IEP:
This program aims at the acquiring of the following skills, depending on each individual’s capacities:
· Cognitive capacities: computer, money concept, time concept
· Academic education: languages (French, English, Arabic), mathematics
· Social interaction with other teenagers: social routines, social standards, medical care, purchasing process, gender education
· Gross motor skills: sports, body language and relaxation
· Fine motor skills: fine art, painting
II- Individual Vocational Program IVP:
This program aims at the preliminary vocational integration of adolescents with Autism in their community. It includes several sheltered and pre-vocational workshops and trainings.
· Sheltered workshops aim at adapting to daily life activities: cooking, gardening, electronics
· Pre-vocational workshops aim at the acquiring of vocational and technical skills: chocolate making, carpentry, candle making, beads, painting
· Vocational integration training: Each adolescent is shadowed by an educator. Each educator guides the adolescent through the vocational training, depending on his/her capacity.
These two programs, the IEP and IVP are prepared and planned at the beginning of each academic year, depending on each adolescent’s needs and capacities. By the end of each trimester, they will be evaluated by the team of educators and professionals on the acquisition of the main objectives.
