Your Day Away, 2009

YOUR DAY AWAY 2009 is about to kick off....

After the success of the worldwide event Your Day Away of 2008 that fulfilled the wishes of more than 600 parents in the world, the event is back to fulfill more wishes for 2009.
Last year, our sponsors were very generous to the parents and provided them a bit of well deserved rest. Kids with special needs require a lot of attention and exhaustive work on the part of their parents and guardians. Your Day Away is a 'day Away' for the parents.

This year's event will take place on November 18th 2009 at Hard Rock Cafe, Beirut.

alfa-4Life SMS Campaign 2009

During the Month of October 2009, and for the third year, alfa, the leading company of Telecommunications in Lebanon, was running its wide 'alfa-4life' SMS campaign, in favor of the Lebanese Autism Society.
(One Dollar (1$) will be donated to the Lebanese Autism Society, For each SMS sent to 1004 in favor of the Lebanese Autism Society)

LAS 9^th Fun Day: May 23rd, 2009

The Lebanese Autism Society proudly presents its 9th Annual Fun-Day Fund-Raising Event for Autism. It is one of the region's largest Autism event, and our signature fundraising and awareness event.

World Autism Day (April 2, 2009)

On the Occasion of the World Autism Day, on April 2nd 2009,
the Lebanese Autism Society has organized the following activities:

Media Coverage on Autism: TV, Radio & Newspapers, during the Month of April 2009, Musical Show: attended by the children with Autism, on the 2nd of April 2009,
Conference on Autism at AUB Issam Fares Hall: on the 2nd of April 2009, at 5PM, organized by the Medical school at AUB.
Karaoke Night at " Bound", organized by "Good Karma" featuring 'Sing for Autism' theme, on April 22nd 2009,
Brunch at Metropolitan Hotel: April 30th, 2009.

HSBC Donation 2009

LAS would like to thank HSBC bank for its very generous donation of $30,000 for the year 2009, in support and encouragement of our organization. We extend thanks to all those who believe and support our cause.
The check of 30,000$ was remitted on February 19th 2009 to the Lebanese Autism Society by HSBC Chief Executive Officer Mr. Francois-Pascal DeMaricourt. ..

A.N.A. Arab Autism Network

The Arab Network for Autism was launched from the Second Arab Regional Conference on Autism “Early Detection, Early Diagnosis” that was organized by the UNESCO Regional Office for Education in Beirut, in co-operation with the Lebanese Autism Society (LAS) and the National Committee for Autism in Lebanon, on the 7th and 8th of October 2008.

Fund-Raising Gala Dinner 2008

The Lebanese Autism Society organized its first Gala dinner on Sunday, November 16th, 2008, With a full course dinner complemented by a welcome drink and open bar and dance to live music at Music Hall - Starco All proceeds benefit LAS action towards children with Autism in Lebanon

Your Day Away, 2008

Across the world, on Saturday November 15th, 2008, communities banded together to support local families with children with Special Needs. One day out of the year when parents and guardians with Special Needs children can get away from the daily routine. Launching of the Event 'Your Day Away' and Press Conference at the Hard Rock Cafe Beirut on Thursday, November 6th 2008 at 4:30 PM.

The 2nd Arab Regional Conference on Autism - October 2008

Under the High Patronage of the First Lady Mrs. Wafaa Michel Sleiman The UNESCO Regional Office in Beirut in collaboration with the Lebanese Autism Society and the Autism Coordination Committee in Lebanon, have organized its Second Arab Regional Conference on Autism: Early Detection, Early Diagnosis, on the 7th and 8th of October 2008, in Crowne Plaza- Beirut.
It has brought together advocates, family members, scholars, pediatricians, other medical professionals, practitioners, NGOs, and officials from a variety of perspectives to explore the theme of Early Identification an Diagnosis for Autism.

UN announces April 2nd as World Autism Day On April 2nd 2008, The United Nations announced the World AutismAwareness Day Resolution to be an official day. On this occasion, several articles appeared in the Arab and International media.

Philip Morris Int'l grants 30,000$ to L.A.S On December 2007, Philip Morris granted 30,000$ The Lebanese AutismSociety We highly appreciate the cooperation of Philip Morris, to help us improve our special intervention & education program which continues to grow over the years, thus making a difference in the education of autistic children in Lebanon. The Lebanese Autism Society received the check of 30,000$ on January 3rd 2008 .
