WORLD  AUTISM  DAY :  April 2

On December 18, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 62/139 declaring April 2 as
World Autism Awareness Day in perpetuity.
This UN resolution established WAAD as one of only three official disease-specific United Nations Days, with the goal of bringing the world's attention to autism, a pervasive disorder that affects tens of millions.

On the Occasion of the 2^nd World Autism Day, April 2 2009,
the Lebanese Autism Society is organizing several activities as follows:

• Media Coverage on Autism:
  TV, Radio & Newspapers, during the Month of April 2009,
• Musical Show:
  to be attended by the children with Autism, on the 2nd of April 2009,
• Conference on Autism at AUB Issam Fares Hall: on the 2nd of April 2009, at 5PM, organized by the Medical school at AUB.
• Karaoke Night at " Bound", organized by "Good Karma"
  featuring 'Sing for Autism' theme, on April 22nd 2009,
• Breakfast at Metropolitan Hotel: April 30.
